Heaven, Hell, and the End of the World | High School Secret Church Watch Party | CPC

No one is immune to death. Yet, we rarely pause to ask all of the questions we have about this imminent moment in each of our lives. Saturday, February 27 we will do just that. Secret Church is a once a year event put on by Pastor David Platt in which he teaches on a particular topic for 5-6 hours (with breaks and worship interspersed throughout). The impetus for the event was a realization that many of the churches in the world function as "secret churches", only meeting a couple of times a year for an extended time to worship, prayer, and build community.
From 10:00 a.m. -3:40 p.m. we will be watching a previous Secret Church event called, "Heaven, Hell, and the End of the World", breaking up into discussion groups, and spending time worshipping together. What content will the event cover?
"David Platt looks at the sobering realities of death, judgment, and hell, as well as the believer’s ultimate hope of heaven. What happens after we die? When will Christ return? What kind of body will we have at the resurrection? Is hell a literal reality? What will heaven be like? What is the millennium? These are the kinds of questions covered in this study, but not so that we can simply satisfy our curiosity: the goal is to persevere in hope and to realize the urgency and gravity of the mission that God has given to His people."- Radical.net
The event is free, and open to High School Students and their parents. Because of the exhaustive nature of the event it is designed for High School and up (if you have a middle schooler who wants to attend, that is permissible as long as the parent remains with the student).
Registration is required, as we will be offering a spiral bound sermon guide, light breakfast (heavy on the light), snacks, coffee, and lunch.
Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. (along with a light breakfast) and we will start the Watch Party promptly at 10 a.m.
