At first glance, The Book of Proverbs may seem like an ancient self-help guide or a book of archaic quips and sayings. But upon reading it, one would discover that it contains wisdom that transcends time and relates to normal day to day life; even in 2023. Yet, we may be surprised to know the early church read it primarily as a book about Wisdom himself—the Lord Jesus.
