About

A movement of disciple-making disciples

Vision

Following the Holy Spirit, we exist to create a movement of disciple-making disciples in RDU and around the world. We seek to fulfill our mission through gospel-centered living, blessing our community, and planting churches.

Mission and Vision

History

The Summit began in 1961 when Pastor Sam James founded a church with the mission of reaching the world with the gospel. That church became Homestead Heights, and in 1998, they fasted and prayed for what God would do next. In December 2001, the church voted to call J.D. Greear as the new lead pastor, and they relaunched as The Summit Church.
