The Parable of the Builders by Jonathan Evans
This 10 minute, one session study is an encouraging devotion on putting the foundation of your life on the Rock. It comes with a discussion guide to help you think about the scriptures before and after you watch the video. My favorite quotes from this video were "What delineates the wise man from the fool makes itself evident when the storms show up" and "Storms are like the mail that comes to your house that says "Occupant or Resident". It doesn't care who lives there, it's just coming.
The Bible Project Word Study Series by Tim Mackie
If you know The Bible Project, you know their ability to take complex ideas or big pictures and make them much easier to see and understand. You and your students will grow (and be entertained) by any of their series. Explore important Greek and Hebrew words that are foundational for understanding the biblical story. They’ll unpack the original meaning of these words and show how they illuminate our understanding of the world still today (in just under 5 minutes). My favorite word study was the one on strength. While I normally watch The Bible Project on youtube or on their website, many families have far more confidence in Right Now Media than they do Youtube or an open browser.
Psalm 23 by Matt Chandler
I feel so needy in this season where COVID-19 has turned everything upside down. The central question of this series was really helpful for me. Many people are familiar with Psalm 23. But because we all know it, we often breeze through the psalm without slowing down long enough to rest in the assurance it offers. In this 6-part series on Psalm 23, pastor Matt Chandler introduces us to the great shepherd, the Lord, who promises to provide for every need of his flock. Though only six verses long, this psalm teaches us profound truths about our loving and protective God. By studying Psalm 23, we’ll encounter a life-transforming question: Do you trust the Lord to care for your needs?
Nice by Sharon Hodde Miller
This 5 part Bible study talks about the idol of being nice. I found this to be a challenging series that would be helpful for students as they are living physically separate from most of their community and in extreme proximity with the rest. "It's easy to be nice instead of truthful, nice instead of obedient, nice instead of bold." This is a great series for high school students, and most of the teaching and applications are from a females. There is also a study included.
