FreedomRDU: Covid-19 Prayer Guide

Apr 06, 2020 | By Tony Diana

Heb.13:15, "Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. 16 And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."

Col.4:2-4, “Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.”

Isa. 62:6,7, “On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves; and give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

Psalm 127:1,2, “Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.”

Pro.21:31, “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory belongs to the Lord.”

1Cor.3:7-9, “What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who water is anything, but God who causes the growth. Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.”

We are forced to be physically absent from our brothers and sisters in the prisons, but our God continues to cause the growth of the seeds we have planted and watered by His grace, and to bring forth fruit for His glory. We continue to labor, watering the seeds we have sown with our prayers.

Pray for physical and emotional health for the men and women who are incarcerated and all the prison personnel - wardens, guards, program directors & chaplains.

Ask that Covid-19 be stopped outside of the prison walls, His protection on this vulnerable population.

Pray for wisdom for leaders in NCDPS as they make critical decisions

Pray that Christians on the inside:

  • will draw close to Christ personally through His word and prayer - Col.2:6,7
  • love, encourage and pray for one another - Heb.3:12-14
  • serve the rest of the population, putting the love of Christ on display - Gal.6:9,10
  • boldly proclaim the gospel as Christ’s ambassadors- Acts 4:31; 2Cor.5:18-21

Pray that many men and women will be saved! - Acts 18:9,10
