Summit Kids August Update
Jul 31, 2020
| By Tyler English
Here’s what’s happening in Summit Kids this month.
We’re so excited to announce that registration is open for our upcoming year of Awana! Kids age 3 to 4th grade will love memorizing scripture, learning about the Bible and missions, and celebrating together through this fun, weekly program. This year we will be equipping parents to oversee your kids’ scripture memory and study at home and providing monthly videos and Zoom calls to keep everyone connected. We’ll also have bigger and better store nights twice this fall with awards your kids (and you) will love. Awana kicks off September 13 with a drive-thru night to pickup books and materials. If you haven’t tried it before, 2020 is your year! Register today!
Family Worship: Read, Pray Sing
In this season we want to continue to encourage you to A) worship together as a family every weekend by streaming our regular services and B) worship together as a family during the week with our made-with-kids-in-mind Read, Pray, Sing videos. We know it can be daunting to manage small kids during weekend services, so we want to partner with you through that. Check out this article for ideas about how to make weekend worship work for your family and this one for ideas on how to develop your kids’ ability to participate well.
Some of our Capital Hills members have come together to help you feel confident in what this school year brings. This collaboration of parents and teachers will offer two events to help parents with this challenging new year. Monday, August 3 will be a Homeschool Informational Meeting and Tuesday, August 4 will be a Virtual School Informational Meeting. Ongoing support will also be offered through a Facebook group and resulting relationships with other Summit members. If interested, join this group for more information.
