Summit Prayer

Prayer comes First. And Second. And Third.

40 Days of Prayer

Sep. 1 - Oct. 11

We’ve been instructed to ask. We’ve been invited to seek. And we are encouraged to knock.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7 NIV).

You’ve heard it before: “[You] have not, because [you] ask not” (James 4:2b KJV). What a tragedy if we miss what God wants to give and do, simply because we fail to ask.

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:19–25 ESV)

Relationships are an essential part of discipleship. We need the encouragement of others if we are going to grow as faithful disciples.

  • Ask God to help you cultivate deep relationships that provide encouragement and accountability, helping you grow as a disciple.
  • Pray that the men and women of The Summit Church would be faithful to speak truth to each other in love, calling one another to live holy lives for the glory of God.
  • Pray that we would faithfully invest in the discipleship of the next generation.
