You can’t read 2 Corinthians without coming across one paradox after another: power is made perfect in weakness; dependence is better than self-sufficiency; suffering gives way to glory. But this, Paul says, is exactly how God works: He goes after the weak, not the strong; he chooses the overlooked, not the talented; he uses broken vessels to be instruments of his earth-shattering power.
